1970 Pontiac GTO Judge 4-Speed

Filed in Pontiac GTO by on October 24, 2017 • views: 93

The 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge came with a window sticker just below $5,000. That was a lot of money in 1970. Cars are not the best investments. It’s been common knowledge that cars depreciate as soon as you drive them off the lot. It takes a long time before a car goes up in value, and even then, it depends on the right car. Just because it’s old, doesn’t mean it’s going to be worth much.

The Pontiac GTO is an iconic muscle car that has been sought after by collectors for years. This example showed up on ebay in October of this year (2017). It was listed at a price tag of $79,900 after an alleged $100,000 restoration. So I guess that makes a $20,100 loss (??).

The Hagerty Valuation Tool puts the value of this car more at $62,500.

Current Values:

$62,500 – #1 Concours

Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is “concours.”

$46,000 – #2 Excellent

$26,400 – #3 Good

$16,600 – #4 Fair

Value Adjustments

+15% for 4-spd. +10% for factory a/c. -10% for auto.

Regardless, it’s a really beautiful car, and an excellent example to share with our readers.
